Shady Photo Safe

Shady has NO open button. After downloading the open button does not work. Shady has no icon, will not be on your desktop, and will not be in the app drawer.

There is only one way to open Shady; you must DIAL 456 in your telephone. You can change this dialing code to any secret number youd like.

Shady Photo Safe features:

*) Lossless import - Shady will attempt to import the photo without any scaling if possible, and will reduce the resolution slightly if the application is about to go over-budget and crash only if necessary.

*) FULL pinch zoom support!! - when attempting to view an image, Shady exports it to the stock gallery application and displays it accordingly. Please press the back button to return to Shady afterward, which automatically deletes the image from the stock gallery. If you press the home button the temp image will not be deleted until you next open Shady.

*) Intelligent thumbnail caching - When an image is added to the Shady gallery, or the thumbnail resolution is changed, thumbnails are synchronized with the images respectively.

*) New perma-cache system - In older versions of Shady the thumbnails were generated each and every time the application opened, which made the gallery very slow. In the current version all thumbnails are intelligently and permanently cached, which decrease the load time of the gallery almost 95%. Shady Photo Safe is very fast, although it can be quitetime consuming while the thumbnail cache is being completely rebuilt particularly when a different thumbnail resolution is selected.

*) Screen off security - A port from Shady SMS detects when the users turns the telephone screen off. Shady registers this user action automatically closing the application. So if someone is over your shoulder, or about to use your device simply turn the screen off and Shady automatically shuts down :-)

* SD and internal Data modes - Internal data does not mount to a computer by default. If you have a custom rom it may, but on stock roms only the SD will mount to a computer when docked. You can toggle SD mode in Shadys main menu. The main benefit of SD mode is the large storage capacity. In internal data mode youll want to limit the quantity of photos to about 30 max.

Medium thumbnail resolution is the default and the recommended setting. There is the option to increase the thumbnail resolution in the main menu. If you experience errors during the viewing, importing, or exporting of photos you will want to decrease the thumbnail resolution, let the thumbnail cache rebuild, then reboot your device. While the Android OS has come a long way there are many memory based limitations that are relatively insurmountable. There are many times that the Dalvik virtual machines becomes clogged, and rebooting is required to free up memory. Shady is very memory conscious, but processes involving photos are extremely memory intensive and truly push the limits of the Android operating system.

As with Shady SMS, Shady Photo Safe is not recommended for use on the Droid Eris, the Samsung Moment, the HTC Hero or any other Android device release with 1.6. These devices simply do not have the physical memory capacity to support the intense operations permitted on post 2.0 systems. Shady Photo Safe is recommended for devices released with Android 2.1+ particularly the Droid Incredible, the EVO 4G, the Moto X, Droid 2, and all new Samsung Devices.
