Profile Valet lets you automate your device profile settings based on your location, schedule or manual invocation. Do you want WiFi on at home but off when you’re at the office? Q: Why do location profiles not switch my profile immediately?
A: We set location profiles by getting location info from GPS & Cell Tower location. GPS is better for accuracy, but it can be a battery drain. So we have an algorithm we use to minimize our use of your system resources. Normally, the app should set location profiles within 5-10 minutes. *TIP* You can manually invoke a location get if the app isn’t finding you by invoking and then disabling a manual profile.

Q: Can you please provide me with a default profile?
A: We already do – it’s the settings you have on your phone right now. Anytime you have a profile running, we will ALWAYS return you to your pre-profile state. So just set your device up as you want it for default and then set all your profiles.

Q: Can I have profiles that run every Monday & Wednesday?
A: Sure, just use the recurring weekly feature and select Monday and Wednesday from the checkboxes. No matter when your start & end date for first time activation, that profile will run every following Monday and Wednesday for the duration/time slot that your initial profile is set.

Q: Does this app use a lot of my battery?
A: Not only do we not use a lot of your battery, we do everything we can to PROLONG your battery. We use GPS very sparingly (on average we hit GPS for 5-6 min over 20 hours) and by giving you the ability to automatically toggle off Bluetooth, Wifi or High Brightness Display, we will save you a ton on your battery life.

Q: Why don’t you have X, Y or Z feature like Tasker does?
A: Well, the truth is that we only launched the app in January 2011, so give us some time. We have a huge list of enhancements that we’re planning, including setting profile based on device action (plugged into power, headphones plugged in), profile prioritization, combining location + time for profile logic, and much much more. But we’re just out of the gate, so please be patient with us until we get this to be exactly where you want it!
