NEW SEARCH ENGINES

If your favorite search engine is not listed, use AskDroid feature Not found to send us a message.

Please note that you cannot add search engines to AskDroid yourself. We quickly fulfill most (but not all) requests, because occasionally users want search engines for finding primarily illegal or adult content. You are free to use such search engines but not through AskDroid.

INSTALL

AskDroid will not appear on home screen automatically after installation. It must be added to Home screen manually. If by the time you install AskDroid you forget these instructions, launch the AskDroid app in your applications folder and you will get on-screen instructions on what to do.

To install a widget:
1. Select the screen where you want your widget to be. You will need at least 1 full empty horizontal line of screen (4x1, or enough to line up 4 icons horizontally)
2. Either press Menu and then Add to Home or long press on the empty space on the screen until an Add menu appears.
3. Press Widget.
4. Press AskDroid

AskDroid widget will appear on the screen.

MULTIPLE WIDGETS

You can add more than one AskDroid widget to the same screen or different screens. Each widget can have a different set of search engine icons. However, each widget must also be customized separately.

SELECTING SEARCH ENGINES

AskDroid comes with 4 buttons for 4 different search engines. We fill them with random icons. They must be changed to whatever search engines you want to use. Press the large + button on the left to open the widget setup screen.

Here you can:

1. Change search engines assigned to buttons 1, 2, 3 and 4 (left to right on the widget)
2. Change color theme of the widget
3. Change special view and usage settings for the widget.

USING WIDGET

1. Press an icon of the search engine you want to use.
2. Type on the on-screen keyboard. Your search string will appear in the search field above.
3. When done, press the search Magnifying Glass button on the right.

Your search results will be in the browser window that will open.

To cancel, press a BACK key once to close a keyboard and twice to close the search field.
